Other commissions
for Vlaardingen

2011-2014

After the major commission for Hoogstraat, I completed several more commissions for Museum Vlaardingen. I created three oil paintings of the Broekpolder Regatta, four watercolors to commemorate the reopening of 't Hof/Oranjepark, and two for the Living Statues event in 2011.

I created several watercolors of the city hall, two when the building was stripped and two later from the same vantage point after the renovation was completed.

After Vlaardingen was designated a Protected Cityscape on February 14, 2014, I created several watercolors of the Oostwijk district, Oosthavenkade, and Kon.Wilhelminakade North Sea.

I created two watercolors for the festive opening of the renovated Museum Vlaardingen: one of the still-empty interior and one of the reception area.

Broekpolder Regatta

Broekpolderregatta, Foppenplas olieverf

The 2011 Broekpolder Regatta was held on the Vlaardingervaart canal with 13 participating boats and 122 athletic competitors.

The boats are historic flat-bottomed boats that can sail or be pulled along the towpath by groups of strong men and women.

I created three oil paintings depicting the regatta's course.

Neighborhood Day

Vlaardingen, Burendag Triade

Neighbors' Day is an annual celebration that you celebrate together with your neighbors and your neighborhood.

This initiative is supported by Douwe Egberts and the Oranje Fonds. I created two watercolors of the lively Neighbors' Day in Drevenpark in Vlaardingen.
